Vanessa is a Supervisee in Social work in the state of Virginia. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a master’s in social work and a concentration in military populations. In addition , as a military spouse, Vanessa has first-hand knowledge of the barriers and resiliency that come with military life and the demands families may experience. Vanessa has experience providing group and individual therapy to individuals experiencing housing insecurity, employment issues, criminal justice involvement, and many other challenges.
Currently, as a Supervisee, Vanessa provides therapy to a diverse client population living with anxiety, depression, life changes, and relationship issues. Vanessa understands that sometimes life transitions can be difficult and there are times when we just need extra support. Vanessa states "My primary goal in life is to normalize therapy and provide non-judgmental and compassionate care to all individuals I have the opportunity to serve. I believe that a client-centered approach allows people to be the expert in their life and utilize the strengths they already have."
Vanessa has experience utilizing approaches from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Relapse Prevention, and mindfulness-based interventions.
